God May Have Saved Her, But From Herself

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/09/16/washington.acid.attack/index.html
On August 30th, this woman claimed that God saved her from being blinded when an unknown African-American woman threw acid in her face. How? Because she had bought a new pair of sunglasses only twenty minutes beforehand. Turns out, there was no African-American assailant, and the police are now saying that the burned woman is responsible for her injuries. Details are not abundant but one thing is clear: if God saved her, he saved her from herself.

For Beck, Other Religious Conservatives, Math is a Matter of Fate

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/08/30/glenn.beck.rally.monday/index.html#fbid=EjG_nqtQ2AI&wom=false
CBS News' estimated the number of people who turned out for Glenn Beck's tastelessly scheduled "Restoring Honor" religious rally at the Lincoln Memorial to be between 78,000 and 96,000 people, based on evidence obtained through third-party aerial photography and analysis. Beck's network Fox reported an estimate over 500,000, whereas Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) claimed to have personally witnessed no less than 1,000,000 people in attendance. I guess if your faith is strong enough to survive the Bush administration, little things like mathematics must be easy to overcome.

Wife of Emphysema Patient Appreciates God's Cancer Prank

http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/12001910794327/man-finds-plant-growing-inside-his-lung/
Ron Sveden believed that, in addition to his battle with emphysema, he was going to have to battle lung cancer as well. But the real identity of the growth that caused his left lung to collapse was not cancer, but a pea that 'went down the wrong way,' sprouted, and continued to grow in Sveden's lung. Said Sveden's wife Nancy: "God has such a sense of humor." I'd say Nancy and Ron are the ones with the real sense of humor here.

Author Changes Facebook Religious Status

http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/08/04/1760058/keeping-faith-losing-religion.html
Famous author Anne Rice joins the increasing segment of American adults who do not claim any religious affiliation. While her personal beliefs remain as supernaturally focused as her many books (Rice still claims a personal faith in Jesus), she has publicly denounced Christianity as a religion. Next thing you know, she'll stop using facebook! Also, LOL that message board, as always.

Judgement Day To Ruin Everyone's Weekend

http://www.newsfirst5.com/news/bus-benches-claim-to-reveal-return-of-christ/
At least now they have confirmed the date. The whole "thief in the night" thing is kind of noncommittal for such a huge deal. Unfortunately most of us won't be on the clock when the shit goes down.

Don't forget: May 21st, 2011.

"Cross Chip" Verifies Important Decision

"Everybody these days is looking for a sign of hope something positive." [sic]
I wish that the life decisions I make could be verified in this way. She knows it's just a potato chip. But there is a cross in it! Maybe she just needed some way to feel good about a decision that was already made, that she didn't feel good about when she made it?
